Sunday, June 3, 2012 – 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Location: Isabella Cannon Park

Join us at Isabella Cannon Park for an afternoon of live music, food, and fun. Everyone in the neighborhood is welcome; invite your friends and neighbors!
Bring a side dish to share, chairs, a blanket, and something to drink.

Burgers and Dogs will be provided by Melvin’s at the Alley.
Melvin’s at the Alley will also be providing a $5 all you can bowl special to University Park Residents after the event.

Front Yard Parking Update:

The debate about front-yard parking continued Wednesday, as members of the Raleigh City Council’s Comprehensive Planning Committee decided the rules to restrict front-yard parking need more ironing before they can move ahead.

If approved, the ordinance would compel homeowners of single-family dwellings to use a non-erodible surface for driveways and limit the amount of space that can be used for parking.

Instead of applying the ordinance citywide, committee members said the rule will only become law in overlay districts. That means only it will only apply to people living where a parking overlay district is created. UPHA will hold its annual general membership meeting on Monday, Feb 6th at Brooks Ave. Church of Christ. Dinner begins at 6pm and the meeting at 7pm. Suggested donation for dinner is $5 per person.

We will induct our new Board of Directors at the outset of the meeting. The remainder of the meeting will focus on how to institute a Neighborhood Watch in UPHA. Brooks Avenue Church of Christ has been a very generous host to UPHA. Each month, the church helps over feed over 200 families. Please help show our appreciation for their generosity to us and their service to the community by bringing canned goods and non-perishable items to stock their food pantry.
